International job openings despite Corona
The Covid 19-pandemic has hit the global job market badly. One job sector is however still open for international employments.
According to numbers from the International Labor Organization (ILO), as much as 400 million jobs have disappeared internationally due to the Covid 19-pandemic. This is more than 10 percent of all global jobs. Nearly all job sectors are affected. In this situation few companies hire people internationally.
“Most companies we are in touch with, have pushed the pause-button for international recruitment,” writes a recruitment company Tent collaborates with.
Exceptions
There are however nuances in the picture, and especially one sector stands out as an exception.
“The health sector is still open and provides good opportunities for getting international jobs,” writes the company.
Tent is currently trying to find medical doctors and nurses for jobs in the Middle East and Asia. The working conditions are very competitive.
Challenge
“Tent gets information about numerous job openings. Many of them are in nations where the gospel is little know. Those who get these jobs will not only acquire good international job experience, but will also get the opportunities to pray for and share the gospel with people in nations where Jesus is not knows,” says Tent International’s director, Steinar Opheim.
“One of the greatest challenges in our work is to find people who will apply for the jobs we get information about. The job openings are many, but currently we are not able to get in touch with enough people who are willing to move for the sake of the gospel, says Opheim.
