On-site tentmaking courses are back
Global Intent’s and Tent International’s on-site GO Equipped courses are finally back after the covid pandemic. The next course is run in Sinsheim, Germany in the end of October.
40+ participants were present as the first post-Covid GO Equipped course kicked off in the city of Uyo in Nigeria last month. The Nigeria course was followed by a course in Liberia.
“It was amazing to meet participants face to face again,” comments Tent International’s director, Steinar Opheim.
Sinsheim next
Registrations are now open for the next course up, which takes place in Sinsheim in Germany October 29 till November 2. Then follow courses in Slovakia and other places.
“We are now working on finalizing our program for the first half of 2022. Hopefully we can regain the speed in our training of businesspeople, professionals and students who want to serve God through life and work,” says Opheim.
The GO Equipped courses set new records in participation each year until covid 19 hit the world. In 2019 a total of 404 participants took the courses that were held on five continents. The pandemic made it close to impossible to arrange on-site courses. Instead, the GO Equipped training was made available online, and 100+ participants finalized one or more modules in 2020.
New possibilities
“The online format works well in many ways. For instance, it gives the participants more time for reflection. Nothing can replace the fellowship we have when we meet face to face, though. We are now developing a combination of the two formats. This will allow us to relate and focus more on some essential training in our on-site courses. Participants can then take add-on modules online as they need it,” shares Tent International’s director.
He assures people that necessary measure for infection control will be in place as the on-site courses are starting up again.
“We will do what we can to stop the pandemic, and we follow agreed-upon procedures in the places where the courses are held,” assures Opheim.
