Desires to make GO Equipped available worldwide
Kuku F. Lloyd signed up for the GO Equipped course in Liberia in 2022 to enhance her skills for her work in the Human Resources Department of the Liberian Senate. Little did she know that the course would change her identity and approach to her work.
“I wish every Christian worker in the world could take this course. The content opened my eyes, and my work has never been the same since,” says Kuku F. Lloyd
As the training coordinator in the HR department of the Liberian Senate, she has daily contact with the Senate’s staff and the Liberian Senators. She has also played a central role in developing Tent Liberia. As the organisation’s programme director, she has been responsible for planning and implementing courses in the West African coast nation. In November, she took on the responsibility as Tent Liberia’s acting director.
She previously spent four years studying in Ukraine, where she was part of an international student community. At the time, she didn't think much about serving Jesus through her studies.
Faith at work
“My life won't be the same after taking GO Equipped. My outlook on work has changed, and I have gained a new understanding of how to serve God with my entire life, including my career,” says Kuku F. Lloyd.
She particularly mentions the teachings on 'The Fifth Gospel' and 'Six Ways to Serve God at Work’ as impacting. The term 'The Fifth Gospel' refers to a statement made by the Irish evangelist Gypsy Smith, who lived 100 years ago.
- Some people never read the first four gospels, said Smith, who claimed that the lives of the Christians thus become the only gospel that can open the way to God for many.
An important tool
The “Six Ways to Serve God at Work” teaching is based on a programme by the London Institute of Contemporary Christianity (LICC) and presents different perspectives on serving God in the workplace.
“This teaching has been an essential tool for me in my work since I took the course,” says Kuku F. Lloyd.
She also appreciates the course's mission focus.
“It helps us to serve God and share the Gospel wherever we are - whether in our community or on International assignments. I know what the course has done for me, and I dream that we can make it available to all Christians worldwide,” she says.
