Enjoyed GO Equipped in the Liberian Senate

Staff from the Liberian Senate were in majority as Tent did its fifth GO Equipped course in Liberia in March. “I have never before reflected on how I can impact my workplace in a godly way,” says one of the participants.
57 people went through the three-day version of the GO Equipped course that was held March 29-31 inside the Senate building in the Liberian capital, Monrovia. They all got to know more about how they can better serve Jesus through their work, both where they are today and where God might call them in the future.
Always share Christ
“We have learned lots of useful things at this course – especially in terms of discipleship making. Wherever we are, and no matter what level we operate at, we should always try to share Christ with the people around us, says Lawrence C. Tarr. He serves as chief of staff in the Liberian senate.
“This course has given me more vigor in reaching out with the gospel regardless of who I am with,” continues Tarr.
He was especially touched by the opportunities tentmaking gives for making every church a sending church.
“In our churches we often become satisfied with where we are. The Bible does however instruct us to go out. For me it made a great impact to hear that all churches can take part in making disciples for Christ all around the world.
Overwhelming
Archie D. Moses, who works as a captain in the Senate’s security staff, says the course opened new perspectives for him.
“I have never really considered how I can serve God through my work before and how I can reach out with the message about Christ in my workplace, says the security officer.
Saybah Kptor who works as executive secretary in the senate, labels the GO Equipped course as “overwhelming”.
“There are certain things in our Christian life that I have not thought about before. The calling to bring my faith in Jesus to my workplace is one of them. This course helped me to enlarge my mind. The most important thing I will take with me, is that our workplace is not just a place we should come to. It is a place where we can make a godly impact, and where we are to help people, attend to them and build their spiritual lives as we work.
Leadership
Ivan Yrah, who directs the Senate’s HR department, is grateful that Tent decided to do the course in the Senate.
“This course is not just about faith, but also about leadership and performance. I am grateful that Tent gave us biblical insights on how to lead and perform. We now have got new knowledge that can help us develop the Senate’s work further, says the HR director.
Tent Liberia’s program director, Kuku F. Lloyd, works for the Liberian Senate and has been instrumental in bringing the GO Equipped course there. Tent Liberia’s core team is now planning the steps ahead.
“It is important to use the momentum that a course like this creates,” says chariman of Tent Liberia’s board of directors, Daniel B. McGee.
“The coming months we will focus on sending at least one professional to another nation. This will encourage more people to go later,” shares Koiwu Scott who serves as the director for Tent Liberia.
